RTA Summit Series

Join a business-led discussion on transportation solutions

Some small businesses depend on customers being able to get to and access their store front or company. Could your small business benefit from increased mobility around the Triangle?

Our region has a number of major projects on the way – from new rail and rapid bus corridors, to I-540 and I-40 improvements, to RDU expansion. What else can we do now to improve mobility across our region more quickly, considering rapid growth, technology change, and funding challenges?

The RTA 2018 Summit Series is a regional forum to discuss ways to enhance the travel experience, reduce transportation barriers, and keep our economy moving.

Three sessions will be led by Triangle business leaders on May 1, May 2, and May 3 in Durham, Raleigh, and RTP. Attend any session at no cost; pre-registration is required.

Champions of Women: A Message of Inspiration

The 2018 Women’s Leadership Conference will highlight why it is so important for every business to be champions of women in the workplace. The conference will feature a message of inspiration, as well as key breakout sessions and a panel discussion focusing on practical topics that will enable you to bring useful tips and ideas back with you to your workplace.

Our keynote speaker, Carey Lohrenz, is a former lieutenant in the United States Navy. Lohrenz was the first fully qualified female naval aviator to fly the F-14 Tomcat in the United States military. Her message will drive your team to achieve peak performance, all while leading with courage and not shying away from a challenge.

On our panel, you will hear from:

  • Farad Ali, president and CEO, The Institute
  • Leah Brown, president and CEO, A10 Solutions
  • Margaret Spellings, president, UNC system

Through our breakout sessions, we will cover a variety of topics key to the overall theme of the conference. Those who go to the conference will be able to select the sessions that they attend. Those sessions include:

  • How Women and Men Communicate Differently at Work
  • Why Championing Women is Good for Business
  • Workplace Advocacy
  • Building Your Personal Brand
  • Finding Your Strengths and the Strengths of Your Team

Please visit here to learn more about each individual session.

This is the fifth year for the conference and the number of people attending has increased each year. It shows that people are gaining valuable insight from this conference, insight that has a tangible benefit when implemented at work.
